The Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg is to make a decision on the appeal filed by the initiators of the creation of the Super League, an organization and competition that will be a serious competitor to UEFA. It is known that the idea originated from the president of Real, Florentino Perez, who currently has the support of only Barcelona after the other clubs from Spain, Italy, England and France withdrew from the project after strong pressures that came even from the governments of these countries.

UEFA banned the Super League and threatened to suspend all clubs that would participate in it, and would not allow them to compete even in national championships. The company A22, which is the original creator of the Super League, believes that UEFA does not have such a right and contested it. The decision of the court in Luxembourg is final and none of the parties has the right to appeal because there is no higher instance than this one.
