Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter, has regained his position as the richest man in the world.
This is according to Bloomberg data, which estimates that the Tesla CEO’s net worth is now around $192 billion, compared to $187 billion for LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault.
The two “centi-billionaires,” a term used for people with a fortune of more than $100 billion, have been in the top spot for months.
Arnaud overtook Musk in December as his wealth grew on the back of a luxury goods boom that helped boost LVMH’s share price. One of the world’s largest conglomerates, it is home to brands that include Louis Vuitton, Dior and Celine.
Meanwhile, Musk has enjoyed a meteoric rise up the world’s rich lists in recent years as his fortune is directly tied to that of Tesla, the electric car maker. His biggest asset is the company’s shares, of which he owns about 13 percent, according to Bloomberg.
In addition to Tesla, Musk is also the CEO of SpaceX, a space exploration company and the owner of the social network Twitter.
