The best Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, will be able to play in tournaments on the territory of the United States, because the US Senate voted to cancel the national declaration of emergency caused by the coronavirus pandemic, CNN reported today.
American media reports that US President Joe Biden will sign this decision, because the first man of the USA has announced that he will not veto it.
The Senate with 68 votes “for” and 23 “against” made a decision to end the state of emergency. Under current rules, foreign nationals who have not been vaccinated against the corona virus cannot travel to the United States. This decision prevented Djokovic from traveling to the USA and playing in the tournaments in this country in the previous period.
The Serbian missed the tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami this year, and after the latest decision of the American authorities, he will be able to play on the summer American tour and the US Open, which is scheduled from August 28 to September.
