Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the information that Russia has mobilized more than 300,000 people is false.
As reported by the RIA Novosti agency, earlier reports appeared in numerous media and on Telegram channels that more than a million people were mobilized.
“These are all false reports,” Peskov told RIA Novosti.
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed a decree on partial mobilization on Wednesday, and a little later Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that 300,000 people are needed for partial mobilization.
Explaining the decision to mobilize, Putin emphasized that he was defending Russian territories and that the West wanted to destroy Russia.
