Novak Djokovic will be without a coach for his first tournament of the new season. He has registered for Brisbane, where he last competed in 2009, but Andy Murray, who has recently been listed as his coach, will not be traveling there.

The reason for this is that the two have a cooperation agreement starting with the Australian Open. The tournament in Brisbane starts on December 29 and, in addition to being Djokovic’s first appearance of the new season, it will also be a dress rehearsal for the Serbian ace for the first Grand Slam of the season.

Murray is expected to join Novak after the tournament and prepare together for the Melbourne Open. The Australian Open starts on January 12, where Djokovic will try to win his 11th career title. It is possible that this tournament will be the only one where Djokovic and Murray will work together as player and coach.
