Novak Djokovic failed to reach the final of the Masters in Monte Carlo, after he was defeated by Kasper Ruud in last night’s semi-final after a great fight (4-6, 6-1, 4-6).

The Serbian tennis player, apart from not making it to the finals, also became a part of history, but in the negative part. Rudd became the first player to defeat a world number one in the semi-finals in the history of the Monte Carlo tournament. This was also the Norwegian’s first triumph against Djokovic.

The world’s best tennis players were 13-0 so far in the battle for the final of the Masters in the Principality of Monaco, but this streak has now been stopped. Such an epilogue or defeat of the first world racket has never happened since the current ranking system was established in 1973.
