The duel to unify the heavyweight championship belts between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will not take place, unfortunately for boxing fans from all over the world.

The match was scheduled for February 17 in Riyadh, but Fury canceled it for seemingly trivial reasons. During one of the trainings, he suffered a cut on the arcade of his right eye and came to the conclusion that he was not fit for a fight even though it was more than two weeks away. Fury remembers well how a similar injury caused him a big problem in the duel with Otto Wallin and he did not want to risk it again.

It is currently unknown whether Usyk’s replacement opponent will be hired or if the fight will just be postponed for an extended period while Fury’s injury heals.
