Świontek received a one-month suspension yesterday, and this caused a storm of public reactions because many believe that the Polish tennis player should have received a higher sentence.
“When she took a doping control test on August 12, she had to write down all the drugs she had taken in the last seven days. “Iga prescribed 14 medicines, but she forgot the last one – melatonin,” the portal writes.
It is melatonin that is the reason why Šviontek was positive on the doping list, but given that she received a “ridiculous” sentence, she probably won’t even file an appeal.
