The seven-time world champion from the ranks of Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton, questioned the new rules in Formula 1, noting that the new engine that will be used from 2026 is a “bold step”.

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced that from 2026 Formula 1 cars will be smaller and more environmentally friendly.

According to the new rules that come into force from 2026, cars will be 30 kilograms lighter, 10 centimeters shorter and have an engine with a 50-50 fuel split between electricity and internal combustion power.

Hamilton has asked for the cars to be lighter several times before, but he is still not sure that such changes will bring anything better.
