F1

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has announced that from 2026 Formula 1 cars will be smaller, more mobile and more environmentally friendly.

According to the new rules that come into force in 2026, the cars will be 30 kilograms lighter and ten centimeters shorter than the current ones, and will have engines with an almost 50/50 split between electric power and internal combustion power. They will have front and rear wings that open on the planes to increase drag and speed.

The new hybrid engines, which triple the amount of electricity, have attracted two new manufacturers to Formula 1 – Audi and Ford – and persuaded Honda to reverse its decision to leave.
