The former owner of a chain of betting shops in Russia, Mikhail Salzman, accused the Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz of participating in match-fixing at the current Masters in Madrid.

As reported by Russian media, he even sent a letter to the management of the tournament in the Spanish capital, as well as to the ATP, the Spanish Tennis Federation and the prosecutor’s office in Spain, claiming that he had proof that the third racket of the world was involved in suspicious activities.

Saltzman claims that Alcaraz intentionally lost games in two matches at the Madrid tournament against Alexander Shevchenko and Jan-Lennard Struff. In question are the games when Alcaraz served against Shevchenko at 5-0 in the second set, as well as when leading 5-3 against Struff, also in the second set.

The Spaniard dropped out of this Masters tournament in the quarter-finals after yesterday’s defeat in the match with Rublyov.
