The Kenyan athlete, Kelvin Kiptum, who set a world marathon record last year, died in a car accident.

The 24-year-old Kiptum made an incredible success last year after running the 42-kilometer section in 2 hours and 35 seconds. It was a new marathon world record.

The world then bowed to him for his incredible achievement, and today everyone is shocked by the news that Kelvin Kiptum lost his life.

The fatal accident happened on the Eldoret-Kaptag road in Kenya when Kiptum’s vehicle went off the road.

The accident was caused by Kiptum himself who was driving the vehicle, and with him was his coach, Gervais Hakizimana who also died.
