Americans have called the Burning Man festival a “national disaster” after 73,000 visitors were trapped in the desert by rain and mud. According to US media, visitors were told to stay in campsites and stock up on food and water after rain turned the entire festival into a pile of mud.
“Movement is allowed only with emergency vehicles.” If you are in the city of Black Rock, shelter in place and stay safe,” organizers said, adding that evacuation could take some time.
Due to the extraordinary weather conditions, there was also a problem with emptying the toilets installed in the festival camp, which is why the whole experience quickly turns into a (smelly) nightmare. A large number of visitors do not even have a signal on their mobile phones.
The festival was supposed to last until tomorrow, but new rainfall is expected until tonight, so it is not known what will happen to the festival and the visitors. The program, of course, has been discontinued for the time being. By the way, there were problems with the festival at the very beginning due to Hurricane Hillary.
