Erdogan will meet Putin in Sochi to renew the grain agreement

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will travel to Russia next week and meet with President Vladimir Putin, which could signal progress in Russia’s return to a key Black Sea grain deal. Ankara has intensified its efforts in recent weeks to restore the grain corridor to help ease the global food crisis.

In their last phone call on August 2, Putin told the Turkish president that Moscow was ready to return to the Black Sea Grain Agreement once the West fulfilled its obligations regarding Russian grain exports.
