An unpleasant scene was seen at the match of the second qualifying round for the US Open between the Ukrainian Diana Yastremska and the Canadian Eugenie Bouchard (6-1, 4-6, 6-4), after the traditional handshake between the opponents did not happen.

The reason for the tensions, however, is not the war in Ukraine, but the tension that has existed between the two tennis players for a long time. Bouchard, who is considered one of the most beautiful tennis players today, called Jastremska a name on one occasion, when she was accused of doping. The Canadian beat her opponent four months ago in Madrid, her first tournament win since beating Maria Sharapova in 2017, which she used to attack the Ukrainian and Russian over doping allegations against them.
