It was an anthological duel that lasted four hours and in which the Serbian tennis player who knows which way to go showed incredible physical and mental stability. This was perhaps the best match of the season, in which the Serbian started well, and with a break in the sixth game he took the first tangible lead, which seemed to wake up the Spanish tennis player. Alcaraz then won five of the next six games, two of them on the opponent’s serve to win the first set already with the first set point. He started in a similar way in the second part of the meeting, with a break in the third game, after which Djokovic realized that he no longer had the right to make a mistake, so he started playing better. The Serbian ace made a rib-break in the eighth game, fought for a tie-break in which he even saved one match-ball. Then he took the initiative, used the second set point and won the third set.

The decisive part of the match brought a big fight for literally every game, and the two tennis players entered a new tie-break with one break each. In it, Djokovic showed experience and maturity, played masterfully and immediately used the first match-ball to great joy. With this, he entered the history of the Masters in Cincinnati as the oldest winner at the age of 36, thus breaking the previous best achievement since 1970.
