Formula 1 faced an unexpected disruption to plans this week, due to flooding in Italy and difficult access to the legendary track in Imola, and as of this afternoon the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix has officially been cancelled.
Italy was hit by heavy rains, which caused massive flooding in that part of Italy, in Tuscany and in Emilia-Romagna, so the problems were felt already on Monday. According to the protocol, the crews are already unloading their equipment on the track where they will be driving, with the difference that now, just after unloading, they have been instructed to leave the entire complex of Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, in Imola.
Crews have since been unable to access the track due to flooded roads.
