The citizens of Turkey voted today in regular presidential and parliamentary elections, choosing between three presidential candidates, 24 political parties and 151 independent candidates for the new composition of the Grand National Assembly, which has a total of 600 parliamentary seats.
64.11 million people had the right to vote in the elections, and the turnout was a high 88 percent.
After almost 90% of the votes counted in the parliamentary elections, the AK Party of Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be the winner with about 36-37% of the votes.
The current Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan does not seem to win more than half of the votes in today’s presidential elections in Turkey, which is a requirement for him to win in the first round, but in the end he will be close to it, over 49%, which is not enough to win still today.
