For security reasons and to protect visitors during the tourist season, the popular “Navagio” beach on the Greek island of Zakynthos will be closed until the end of October this year.
Last month, the Organization for Anti-Seismic Planning and Protection of Greece (OASP) came out with a recommendation to ban access to the beach, after the scientific team found a great danger of landslides due to erosion.
With the decision, access to the beach from both land and water is prohibited, and for violating the ban, administrative fines are provided.
