Germany’s “Bild” reported that the project for the LOI in Berlin in 2036 has been jointly agreed by the two leading German parties, the Social Democrats and the Christian Democratic Union.

Germany has only hosted the IOC twice, Berlin in 1936 at the height of the rise of Adolf Hitler and the country’s National Socialism and Munich in 1972, the bloodiest Games when a dozen Israelis were killed in a terrorist attack by Islamic fundamentalists.

The next IOC will be held in Paris in 2024, followed by Los Angeles (USA) hosting the 2028 Games, while Australia’s Brisbane will host the 2032 Games. Istanbul also has a desire for LOI 2036.
