Putin CANCELLED the decree in support of the sovereignty of Moldova

Russian President Vladimir Putin rescinded a 2012 decree that partially asserted Moldova’s sovereignty in deciding the future of Transnistria, a separatist region bordering Ukraine where Russia has troops.

The decree, which included a Moldovan component, contained Russia’s foreign policy of 11 years ago, which assumed closer relations between Moscow and the European Union and the United States.

The order to cancel the 2012 document was published on the Kremlin’s website and said the decision was made to “secure Russian national interests in connection with the profound changes taking place in international relations.”
