In a press release, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health announced that 12 more people had died in the Batken region, which is located in the southwest of Kyrgyzstan and borders Tajikistan. Previous data spoke of 24 dead people.
Tajikistan also announced new casualties today, announcing that 35 people had been killed. There is no information about mass evacuations of residents from that area.
The two former Soviet republics clashed on their borders this week, accusing each other of using tanks, mortars, rocket artillery and drones in attacks on border settlements.
