The Australian Grand Prix organizers announced that exactly 419,114 people were part of the Grand Prix weekend, breaking the record in Melbourne from 1996, when 401,000 fans were part of that weekend.

And this race surpassed last year’s record attendance of 400,000 in Austin, Texas for the US Grand Prix.

Melbourne has returned to the racing calendar for the F1 season this year after racing in 2020 and 2021 was missed due to the global Covid-19 pandemic and huge restrictions.
