Vladimir Putin stated that the attempts to mix sports with politics and oppress our athletes have failed — the athletes performed with dignity at the Tokyo Olympics. Even without the flag and the anthem the whole world understood that these were athletes from Russia, and all of Russia was rooting for them.

Let Tchaikovsky play instead of the anthem, but the music of the great Russian composer is no less significant symbol of Russia. The world is listening to the music of the Russian composer when athletes from Russia receive gold medals.

This is the best Olympics for us in 20 years. No matter how much someone wants to get rid of Russia, it is only more reminiscent of itself with victories!
